The Chief Rabbi, Rabbi David Lau, visited the village of Gaza and strengthened the volunteers of the ZAKA organization

Israel's Chief Rabbi, the Honorable Rabbi David Lau, visited Gaza Village in the south last night, where he received a comprehensive briefing from the volunteers of the ZAKA organization who have been working on the ground non-stop and strengthened their hands in their difficult and complex work

When the Chief Rabbi, the Honorable Rabbi David Lau, arrived at Gaza Village, he joined the ZAKA volunteers who have been working non-stop since Simchat Torah to remove the hundreds of victims and bring to burial the remaining evidence from the massacre scenes in the Gaza Envelope.

ZAKA commanders in the war zone in the South, Chaim Otmazgin, Yossi Landau, and Simcha Greinman, briefed the Chief Rabbi on ZAKA’s activities since the horrific massacre. ‘Since the beginning of the war, volunteers have come here and we have not left until we brought the last drop of blood from the victims to burial.’

Yossi Landau described the horrors they experienced during their sacred work and said, ‘Even we, the volunteers, who thought we had seen the hardest and most complex scenes, never imagined we would be exposed to such things. I thank the Rabbi for the support and encouragement he gives to the hundreds of volunteers who left their professions and families to engage in this holy task under fire and in real self-sacrifice.’

The Chief Rabbi of Israel, the Honorable Rabbi David Lau, gave a brief word of encouragement on-site and emotionally thanked the ZAKA volunteers for their difficult sacred work. ‘You did a hard and complex job that is unimaginable. I strengthen you and ask to bless you so that from now on, you will only know good and joyful news.
